Why Janana's Gold?

Almost all human knowledge is available somewhere online. Question just is: How do you find the right information and how do you tell the difference between trustworthy and worthless sources. Janana's Gold mission is to sharpen your skills in that perspective. You will train your capabilities to find the right things online in a very entertaining way. It's all set up as a fun and inspiring Treasure Hunt.

What is Janana´s Gold?

Janana´s Gold is an entertaining quiz show event taking place once a week with various specials on occasion. Each one takes you on a virtual Treasure Hunt. Anyone can participate - The first ones to find the solution, win prizes. The prizes become more and bigger, the more people participate in one event! You may use your knowledge as well as Google, Wikipedia … and any other source, to find the answers as fast as possible. Use your knowledge, gain some more and turn it to gold!

What is a Riddle / Treasure Hunt?

Each Treasure Hunt consists of 6 riddles (=questions). Each question reveals one part of a geo-coordinate. If you solve all 6 questions correctly, you can find a spot on earth with that geo-coordinate that Janana is looking for - the solution. Don’t worry, you don’t have to know anything about geo-coordinates to win prizes. The Janana’s Gold website assists you and displays all the relevant spots on a virtual map.

Can I sign up for free?

Signing up is free with Janana´s Gold. If you have a facebook account, it´s even more easy. Use the "connect with facebook" option in the registry and save time filing out the form.

To participate in the Treasure Hunt Tournaments and be able to win prizes, you can buy a ticket any time.

And you can also try hunts of the past in the archive for free.

What can I win?

Each Treasure Hunt in Janana´s Gold rewards the fastest participants with great prizes.

The amount and value of the prizes depend on the number of participants in each Treasure Hunt Event. The more folks in the game, the better the prizes get! You can tribute to great prizes by telling your friends and having them join you in the next event.

What do I have to do to win?

Janana´s Gold is NOT a prize winning game. The prizes are awarded DIRECTLY, to the ones finding the solutions of the Treasure Hunt Events first! Here´s how it works:

- sign up for the next Treasute Hunt Event
- be amongst the first to find the solution
- and you automatically win the prize reserved for your position!

The more people participate, the better the prizes become and the more prizes are awarded! So let your friends know about Janana´s Gold and have them join in the action with you today!

Do I have to pay to participate?

To participate in the latest Treasure Hunt Event and be able to win a prize, you have to buy a ticket. You can however practice and play Treasure Hunts of the past in the archive for free.

How do the Prize-Ranges work?

Each Treasure Hunt Event has its own prize range. The prize range improves, the more people decide to participate in the event and join in.

That means the value of the prizes that will be won go up, as well as the amount of prizes awarded. The more participants, the more prizes will be won and the better those prizes will be.

Check the details of each event to see, which prizes are currently garantueed as well as what prizes will be up next, once a certain amount of participants is reached. Tell your friends to join in the action as prizes will go up, the more people participate.

When do the Riddles / Treasure Hunts start?

Treasure Hunts start every second Sunday at 19:00 (GMT+1). Take a look at “Next Hunts” section for details and new starting dates. If you can´t make it exactly on time at the starting hour you can still participate in the Hunts. The later you enter, the higher the chance, that the prizes might already be won, but you can still enjoy the riddle fun and maybe get rewarded a badge for your profile.

What is the sum of char values?

It is the sum of all character values (a=1, b=2 ... z=26).

What is the sum of digits?

Or digit sum, is the sum of all digits of a number (e.g.: the digit sum of 12340 is calculated as 1+2+3+4+0 = 10).
